AEFINTYR LLC Fused. Tested. Lossless.

Fused. Tested. Lossless, every link.

AEFINTYR LLC is a computer integrated systems design practice working from its laboratory at 2227 3rd Ave SW, Rochester - 55902-2307, United States (US). We plan, build and verify the connected operations that keep a building, a campus and a production floor working as one instrument. Every design leaves our bench fused, tested and measured before it reaches you.

Scope a system

Bring us a building, a floor or a production line. We survey the site, model the integration and return a costed design with a fusion and test plan.

Services laid out like parked fuses

Each tray below holds one discipline of the AEFINTYR LLC practice. They are deliberately different in shape because no two integrations carry the same load. Read them as a working wall, then open the full service page for the detail behind each one.

Systems Architecture

We translate operational goals into a layered system design that names every device, every protocol boundary and every failure domain before a single cable is pulled. The architecture document is the reference that keeps later trades honest. It states what the system will do, what it will not do and how each subsystem is allowed to talk to its neighbours.

Network and Cabling Design

Physical pathways decide how much of a network survives a fault. We design structured cabling, conduit and tray routes, separation distances and patch schedules that field crews can install without guesswork. Every run is documented to the port so commissioning is a reading rather than an argument.

Integration Engineering

Most operational pain lives in the seams between vendors. Our integration engineers own gateways, controllers, data models and interface contracts so that a building management platform, an access system and a production line see one another honestly. We test each interface against real traffic, not a datasheet promise.

Monitoring and Observability

A system that cannot describe its own health is a liability. We define the telemetry each asset should emit, set thresholds that mean something, and build dashboards an operator can read at three in the morning. Alarms are tied to actions so that the alert is the start of a fix and not noise.

Documentation and Compliance

A design is only as useful as its record. We produce as built drawings, asset registers, test results and maintenance schedules that survive staff changes and audits. Where a client carries regulatory duties, we map evidence to the clause it satisfies so a review becomes a lookup rather than a hunt.

Technical Project Management

Integration work fails on sequencing far more often than on engineering. We run the delivery schedule, coordinate trades, witness tests and hold the go live gate. The manager on your project reports in the language of risk and readiness so decisions are made against facts rather than optimism.

The practice

A computer integrated systems design house

AEFINTYR LLC sits inside the Computer Systems Design and Related Services industry, and our work is the kind that only shows itself when a facility tries to operate as one organism. A building with excellent cameras and a broken network is not secure. A production line with fast machines and no telemetry is not efficient. Our craft is to remove those contradictions before they become incidents, and to leave behind a system that behaves the way its drawings promised.

Our laboratory and workshop are in Rochester, Minnesota, where the practice began with a simple discipline borrowed from fiber work. Any join between two parts of a system can be made two ways. It can be pushed together and hoped for, or it can be fused, tested and measured. We chose the second method and applied it to whole systems rather than only to glass. That is why the AEFINTYR LLC name carries the line fused, tested and lossless, and why we keep a fusion bench at the centre of the studio even though our projects span far more than cabling.

The result is a consultancy that speaks both the physical and the logical language of a facility. We are comfortable in a ceiling void and in a data model. We can read a riser diagram in the morning and a controller register in the afternoon, and we treat the two as one subject. Clients come to us when their existing integrator left them a system nobody can explain, or when a new build needs a single mind to hold architecture, cabling, integration and monitoring together from first sketch to final test.

We are deliberately a small bench. Every engagement is led by a named engineer, and the same people who design the system witness it being built. That continuity is the reason our documentation matches reality and the reason a fault eight months after handover is a short conversation rather than an excavation. For a closer account of what each discipline contains, visit our services page, and when you are ready to talk through a site, reach us through the contact page.

Bench method

Four movements from survey to acceptance

Every project passes the same four stations. They are not a sales funnel. They are the order in which risk is removed from a system, and skipping a station is the fastest way to buy an expensive surprise later.

Station 01

Survey

We walk the site, record what exists, interview the operators and photograph every pathway that a drawing forgot. The survey ends with a written brief and a list of unknowns that must be closed.

Station 02

Design

Architecture, cabling, integration and monitoring are resolved together in one model. The client receives drawings, schedules and a costed scope that a contractor can price without interpretation.

Station 03

Build support

We hold the technical line during construction, answer requests for information and inspect work as it is installed so that deviations are caught while they are still cheap to undo.

Station 04

Test and hand over

Every link and every interface is measured against the design. We deliver as built records, test evidence and a training session, then stay reachable for the stabilisation period.

Where we are used

Connected operations in the real world

Our bench serves four broad situations, and most projects are a blend of them.

Commercial buildings

Multi tenant buildings where access control, video, metering and tenant networks must share infrastructure without sharing risk. We design the separation, the addressing and the monitoring that keeps one tenant incident from becoming a building incident, and we link every device to the systems architecture document so a future fit out starts from truth.

Industrial floors

Production and logistics floors where machines, sensors and business systems need to exchange data reliably in a hostile electrical environment. Our integration engineering sits between the plant network and the enterprise so that operational technology stays protected and the reporting layer still gets the numbers it needs.

Institutional campuses

Schools, clinics and campuses with many buildings and a small technical team. We consolidate the cabling and monitoring estate into one register, reduce the number of vendor portals a team must watch, and leave behind documentation that a new hire can follow on the first week on site.

Critical rooms

Server rooms, control rooms and communications closets that must stay alive through a utility event. We plan the power path, the cooling signal path and the escalation ladder, then prove the whole chain by test so the room behaves predictably on the worst day of the year.

Bench reading

Measured, not asserted

Numbers keep a design honest, and we collect them on purpose. The panel opposite shows a sample of the readings our bench tracks across a typical engagement. They are not marketing totals. They are the operational facts we compare each new project against so that a claim of improvement is anchored to a baseline rather than to enthusiasm.

AEFINTYR LLC treats documentation as a product, not a by product. When a project closes, the client owns a set of records that can be handed to a new contractor, submitted for an audit or used to plan the next phase without a discovery exercise. That single habit is the difference between a system that ages well and a system that becomes folklore.

It means every join in the system is proven before it carries live traffic. In fiber terms that is a fusion fuse measured on an optical time domain reflectometer. In system terms it is an interface test with recorded evidence. The principle is the same at both scales and it removes guesswork from handover.

Yes. The Rochester laboratory is our home bench, and we deliver across the United States for clients whose projects need a single design authority across several sites. Remote design work is normal, and we travel for survey, witness testing and handover.

Frequently. We begin with a documentation recovery exercise, rebuild the architecture record from what is installed, and then continue the design from a known state. Clients often find the recovery itself pays for the engagement by revealing what was already purchased and never commissioned.

Bring us a system that must not fail

Tell us the site, the constraint and the deadline. We will tell you honestly whether we can fuse, test and measure it to a lossless standard, and what that work would take. New Rochester clients are first in the winter advisory queue.
